"Feathers" Raymond Carver

While reading this
I found myself
in that kitchen
in a small house in the country.
A German woman with good teeth
consoling her very ugly baby
while their peacock rattles
it's feathers and
clatters across the linoleum.
I can almost smell the coffee brewing
as I take it all in.

Wonderful! Both the sketch and the accompanying text :D

I don't believe I've read anything by Raymond Carver. I'll have to look him up soon.

Burt,

thanks!
This is actually a short story from Raymond Carver. His stories are like sketches... brief insights. Sometimes leaving you to wonder.

Have a great day!
